The main symptoms of a broken car condenser

Aug 02, 2024

The main symptoms of a broken car condenser include dirt blockage, snow leakage, car air conditioner not cooling, and condenser leakage.
1. If the dirt is blocked, it can be blown away repeatedly with nitrogen or dried compressed air until it is clean and smooth. The condenser and evaporator must be cleaned of surface dirt frequently, and the heat transfer fins must not be knocked over or damaged to ensure their heat transfer performance. Under normal circumstances, the surface temperature of the evaporator is very low, but only a large amount of condensation is formed without frost or ice.
2. If the refrigerant is leaking, the car air conditioner will not cool down. The cooling effect of the air conditioner is related to the cleaning of the condenser's heat sink. The surface of the condenser will be covered with dust and debris, which will reduce the heat dissipation efficiency. Once it is restarted, the pressure of the air conditioning system will increase and it will overheat, which will have a serious impact on the compressor and related components. Therefore, in order to ensure that the entire air conditioning system can work properly, it is crucial to keep the condenser surface clean.
3. Condenser leakage. The leakage of the condenser can generally be seen from the outside, such as scratches, bruises, oil leakage from the leakage point, etc. Because the pressure of the evaporator is low and condensation condenses on the outer surface, the leakage of the evaporator is hidden in the evaporator box and is generally not easy to detect.
Leak detection of condensers and evaporators is generally obtained through air tightness test (pressure test). Test pressure: 2.0-2.4MPa for condenser; 1.2MPa for evaporator.
